Jianjun An

Founder, President and Instructor, NPC College of Arts & Design

Artist and designer with over twenty years of experience; founder of NPC.

As an avant-garde artist and professional designer, Jianjun An has over twenty years of experience and has had many of his works featured and exhibited. His artworks are a reflection of human life and modern society, with many added to the collections of friends and collectors. Some of his most prominent works include Crow, Renoir Bathing Girl, Coffee Shop, and Dancing. In addition to painting, he has designed many large-scale architectural works, including the reconstruction of the cultural landmark Yao Temple in Linfen, Shanxi, and the library at North China Institute of Technology.

He continued to pursue his love for oil painting and design, incorporating the traditional Oriental style of his homeland while constantly seeking new breakthroughs and researching the language and perspectives of Western art. As his understanding of Western art grew, his own style shifted until it became a merging of East and West. His art carries the charm of Oriental culture and a distinct hint of Western art.

He is also devoted to teaching, so that more young people understand the variety, creativity and international aspects of art. He wants students who come from China to experience and understand the essence of Western art, and he guides them toward the top art and design universities in North America.
